Precision Metal Industries Invests $500K in New CNC Machinery
Adding to our ever-expanding roster of capabilities, Precision Metal Industries (PMI) — an industry-leading precision CNC sheet metal fabricator — recently acquired $500K worth of new CNC machining equipment, allowing us to further expand our offerings.
Dedicated to constant improvement and innovation, PMI had been working with one HAAS VF-6SS, one Matsuura RAI, and two Fadal VMC machines. Based on our proven success fulfilling clients’ diverse needs, however, we began receiving numerous inquiries from other businesses interested in our CNC machining services.
We have also taken the steps to upgrade our CAD/CAM software to Mastercam, the leading solution in CAD/CAM machine programming. This improvement allows for much faster cycle times thanks to Mastercam’s high speed tool path technology.
In order to keep up with this demand and continue to stay ahead of the curve in the world of manufacturing, PMI decided to invest in several new CNC machines to better serve our customers.
Our New CNC Machinery
We’ve added the following new equipment to our CNC machine shop, each of which is capable of 4th and 5th axis machining:
- Two HAAS VF-2SS Units – This super-speed vertical machining center has 30 in. x 16 in. x 20 in. capacity with a 1,400 in./minute rapid rate.
- One HAAS VF-4SS Unit– Another super-speed vertical machining center, this has a 50 in. x 20 in. x 25 in. capacity with a 1,400 in./minute rapid rate.
- One Mazak 500c Unit–The MX Hybrid Roller Guide System offers superior rigidity, speed, and accuracy, while supplying 48 ft.-lb of torque. This provides the power necessary to cut hard metals and alloys, and is capable of cutting 300 in. per minute.
- One Coord3 ARES NT 10.7.7 Unit – This machine features a Verisurf software inspection machine, a coordinate measuring machine that uses three dimensions to ensure accurate measurements. This guarantees that the tightest tolerances are met successfully every time.
